Bail and bond hearings

If someone you love is being held, the first goal is getting them home. We ask the court to set or lower bond, often within days.

After an arrest, a magistrate decides whether the person can be released and on what terms. If bond was denied or set too high, a judge can review that decision at a bond hearing.

We prepare a plan the judge can say yes to: where the person will live, who will support them, their work and family ties, and conditions that keep everyone safe.

Charges we handle

  • Bond denied
  • Bond set too high
  • Changing bond conditions
  • Pretrial supervision
  • Family support from out of state

What to know right now

  1. 1 Proof of address, a job and family ties helps. Start gathering it now.
  2. 2 Do not discuss the case on jail phone calls. They are recorded.
  3. 3 A family member who will help supervise can make a real difference.
  4. 4 The bond hearing is not the trial. Keep the focus on release.

General information, not legal advice for your situation.

How we build the defense

  • Get the hearing on the court's calendar as soon as possible.
  • Build a release plan with housing, work and supervision.
  • Prepare family members who may speak to the judge.
  • Propose fair conditions, such as check-ins or no-contact terms.

We can't promise how your case will end. We can promise to check every one of these, explain what we find, and let you make the call.

Questions about bond hearings

How fast can a bond hearing happen?

It depends on the court's calendar. Many hearings can be set within a few days. Call as soon as you can so we can start on the paperwork and the plan.

Can I talk to my family member about what happened?

Please do not, at least not on a jail phone or video call. Those calls are recorded and can be used in court. Talk about how they are doing, and leave the case to us.

These are example outcomes written for this demo website. They are not real cases. Every case depends on its own facts, and a past result does not guarantee or predict a similar result in any future case.
