Winnable, local, underway
We pick fights a city can actually win: votes we can count, budgets we can read, roofs we can measure. Every campaign below has a public goal, a published plan, and a job for you this week.
Campaign 01
Ready by 2030
100% clean electricity for city operations
A city council resolution committing every municipal building, streetlight, and pump station in Calder City to 100% clean electricity by 2030 — with a public progress dashboard so nobody has to take anyone's word for it.
The ask: One more councilmember. Six of nine votes are pledged; the resolution needs a seventh to be veto-proof.
7 makes it veto-proof. The committee sent it to a full vote on July 9.
Full council vote expected September 2026

Campaign 02
Fair Fares, Clean Air
Electrify and expand the Route 12 corridor
Route 12 is the busiest crosstown bus in Calder County and the one most riders depend on to reach work and school. We are petitioning the county to fund electric buses and 10-minute peak service on the corridor in the FY2027 transportation budget.
The ask: 10,000 petition signatures before budget hearings open. Riders' names move budgets.
Collected at stops, on board, and online since March.

Campaign 03
Solar on Schools
Put Measure L — 22 school roofs — on the November ballot
Measure L is a facilities bond that would put solar on all 22 Calder Unified school roofs, cutting the district's power bill by an estimated $610,000 a year — money that goes back into classrooms. Bonds pass when neighbors hear about them from neighbors.
The ask: 500 canvass shifts before election day. A trained volunteer covers a precinct in one shift.
Training provided at every launch — first-timers welcome.
