ADAS calibration

Lane keeping, automatic braking and blind-spot alerts, aimed and tested after every repair that touches them.

How we approach it

ADAS means advanced driver-assistance systems. Cameras behind the windshield, radar in the bumper and sensors in the mirrors all need to point exactly where the maker designed them. A repair, a new windshield or even a wheel alignment can throw them off.

We scan your car before and after the repair to find hidden fault codes. Then we calibrate each system with the maker's targets and procedures, and road test the car to confirm it works.

You might need this if

  • A new windshield or bumper was installed
  • A warning light about lane assist, cruise control or braking
  • Blind-spot alerts work on one side only
  • The car was in any front or rear collision
  • The wheel alignment was changed

How we do it

  1. Step 1: Pre-repair scan

Reads every computer module for fault codes, so nothing hidden is missed.

  2. Step 2: Set up

A level floor, measured target positions and the maker's calibration targets.

  3. Step 3: Calibrate

Static calibration in the bay, dynamic calibration on the road, or both, as the maker requires.

  4. Step 4: Scan and test

A final scan and a road test, with a printed report for your records.

Typical prices

Planning ranges in Canadian dollars, before GST. Your written estimate is the real number.

ADAS calibration price ranges
Repair Typical range
Pre-repair or post-repair scan Each, usually part of a collision claim $120 to $250
Forward camera calibration Static targets, after a windshield or front repair $300 to $550
Front radar calibration After bumper or grille work $350 to $700
Blind-spot radar calibration Per side $250 to $500

About these numbers

Some cars need two or three systems calibrated after one repair. We list each one on your estimate, so the total isn't a surprise.

With insurance

When a collision causes the repair, the scans and calibrations the maker requires are part of the claim. We attach the maker's documents so the adjuster can approve them.

Questions we hear

Do I need a calibration after a windshield replacement?

If your car has a camera behind the windshield, almost always. The maker's procedure says exactly when.

The warning light went off on its own. Am I fine?

Not always. A system can switch on but aim slightly wrong. Only a calibration confirms it is pointing where it should.
