About the shop
A tire shop that shows its numbers.
Who we are
Sidewall is an independent tire and wheel shop in Kamloops. Wes Thorvaldsen opened it in 2011 after twelve years on a dealership tire machine, with two bays and one rule: the price on the quote is the price on the receipt. Today we run 6 bays, one alignment rack and a heated warehouse that holds about 900 sets of customers' tires each season.
Why we publish prices by size
Most tire ads quote the cheapest tire in a size nobody drives, then add fees at the counter. We think that's why people dread buying tires. So we list prices for the sizes Kamloops actually drives, in three tiers, and print every install fee on its own line. If you can find the same tire for less somewhere else, you'll know it, because you'll be comparing whole totals.
What we don't do
We don't plug sidewalls, sell nitrogen, call ourselves dealers for brands we aren't dealers for, or recommend tires you don't need yet. If your tread has another season in it, we'll write the number on your receipt and tell you so.
Six bays and a lounge with a window
Wait with coffee and wifi and watch your car the whole time, or drop it off and we'll text when it's done. Our shop is on Cinnabar Way, two minutes off the highway, with room to turn a truck and trailer.
The crew
Five people. You'll usually meet Priya at the counter and whoever has your car in their bay.
