Wheel alignment
An alignment sets three angles so your tires meet the road flat and straight. We measure first, show you the numbers, and only adjust what's out of spec.
Book this when
- The steering wheel sits off-centre when you drive straight
- The car pulls left or right on a flat road
- The inside or outside edge of a tire is wearing faster than the middle
- You hit a pothole or curb hard, or had suspension or steering parts replaced
- You just bought new tires and want them to last
What's included
- Computer alignment check on all four wheels
- Printout of camber, caster and toe, before and after
- Adjustment of every angle your vehicle allows
- Steering wheel centred and a road test

The three angles
What an alignment actually adjusts
Your printout shows these three numbers for each wheel, before and after. Here's what each one means.
-
Toe
Whether the tires point in or out, seen from above. The angle that wears tires fastest when it's off.
-
Camber
The tilt of the tire, seen from the front. Too much and one edge wears smooth while the rest looks new.
-
Caster
The lean of the steering axis, seen from the side. It keeps the car tracking straight and the wheel returning to centre.
How it goes

Questions about alignment
How often should I get an alignment?
Check it once a year, with every new set of tires, and after any hard pothole or curb hit. You don't need a full alignment on a schedule if the check says it's in spec.
Can you align a lifted truck?
Most lifts up to about 3 inches, yes. Bigger lifts may need extra parts to reach spec; we'll tell you after the check, before any adjustment.
