then motion.

The Grey Heron way

Three promises, kept in writing

01

Stillness before motion

Every class begins and ends kneeling in quiet. Composure is the first technique we teach — four-year-olds hold it for three breaths, black belts for as long as it takes.

02

Technique over toughness

Nobody here needs you to be tough. Kids never take head contact, adults never spar without consent, and the fittest person in the room is not the point of the room.

03

Honesty in money

Every price is on the website, belts cost $0 to earn at every rank, and there is no contract anywhere in the building. If that changes, hold us to this page.

Kids from $99 a month, adults from $139, a family cap of $429 — tax included, first uniform included, gradings included. Martial arts has a hidden-fee reputation; we'd rather have the opposite one.

★★★★★

“Both my kids train here and the difference in their focus at home is real. What sold me: the coach spent our whole trial explaining what they DON'T do — no testing fees, no contracts, no yelling. Six months in, all still true.”
Sarah M. · Parent — Little Herons & Young Herons

★★★★★

“38 years old, zero athletic background, terrified of gyms. Foundations was exactly what it promises — nobody sparred me, nobody sized me up. Eight months later I'm rolling in the all-levels gi class and it's the best part of my week.”
Devon K. · Adult Foundations → BJJ

★★★★★

“Started with the six-week cycle after a scary encounter downtown. It rebuilt something. Stayed for kickboxing. The women-coach, women-only room for the cycle mattered more than I can say.”
Kelsey D. · Women's Self-Defence → Kickboxing

The only offer we run

Try a class. Pay nothing. Decide slowly.

Any program, any trial-marked class on the schedule — no card, no contract, and an honest chat with the coach afterwards about whether this is your right room.
