Providers
Three people, no mystery
Two board-certified dermatologists and one physician assistant — small on purpose. You'll always know who you're seeing and what their role is, and the right person for your visit is baked into online booking.
-
Dr. Elena Marsh, MD, FAAD
Board-certified dermatologist · Medical director
Dr. Marsh built Aster around the unfashionable idea that medical dermatology comes first. Residency-trained in dermatologic surgery, she leads the skin-cancer screening and surgical side of the practice, and reads every pathology report that comes through the clinic herself.
Focus
- Skin cancer detection & surgery
- Full-body screening exams
- Complex mole monitoring
-
Dr. Marcus Villanueva, MD, FAAD
Board-certified dermatologist · Cosmetic lead
Dr. Villanueva splits his week between complex medical dermatology — psoriasis, eczema, and biologic therapy — and the clinic's cosmetic practice, which he insists on running like medicine: consult first, conservative dosing, and a documented plan. He is the only person at Aster who injects.
Focus
- Psoriasis & eczema (incl. biologics)
- Injectables & laser (physician-performed)
- Rosacea & vascular laser
-
Dev Raman, PA-C
Physician assistant · Acne program
Dev runs the day-to-day of the Aster Acne Program and sees follow-ups, rashes, and routine medical visits — always with one of the physicians in clinic and a low threshold for pulling them into the room. Patients describe him as the person who finally explained their prescription.
Focus
- The Aster Acne Program
- Eczema & rash follow-ups
- Wart & molluscum treatment
About these credentials: board certification (FAAD) means a dermatologist completed residency training in dermatology and passed the specialty board exam; PA-C is a nationally certified physician assistant practicing with physician collaboration. And because this is a design demo: the people, names, and credentials on this page are fictional.
How the three of us divide the work
Screening & surgery
Full-body exams and anything needing a scalpel lead with Dr. Marsh. Priority-track spot checks book with either physician — whoever is soonest.
Complex medical & cosmetic
Psoriasis, eczema, and biologic therapy sit with Dr. Villanueva — who also personally performs every cosmetic treatment in the practice.
Programs & follow-up
Dev runs the acne program and routine follow-ups, with a physician in clinic alongside him — and a low threshold for bringing one into the room.

Online booking shows each provider's clinic days and books only the visits they take — cosmetic consults with Dr. Villanueva, screenings with the physicians, everything else with whoever suits you.
