About Ridgeline

One rule: the exam decides.

Ridgeline is an independent practice in Salt Lake City, open since 2011. We are not part of a chain, we do not pay for “deal” listings, and nobody here earns a commission for booking surgery.

The map comes first. Every conversation about surgery starts with a picture like this one of your own cornea. (Illustration.)

Our story

Built by a surgeon who was tired of the sales calendar

Dr. Maren Holt spent her early career at a busy laser center where the consult room had a monthly quota. She saw people booked for LASIK who would have done better with PRK, and others who should have been told to wait a year.

She opened Ridgeline with one laser suite and a simple promise: the screening is free, it measures everything, and the answer can be no. Some people leave without a surgery date. Many of them come back later, or send a friend.

As the practice grew, cataract, lens and glaucoma care joined, along with a dry eye clinic, because so many people needed their tears treated before anyone talked about lasers.

  1. 01

The exam decides, not the ad

Your free screening measures your eyes and a surgeon reads the results with you. Some people hear that laser surgery is not right for them. We say so plainly, and we explain what might fit instead.

  2. 02

    Prices per eye, in writing

Every procedure has a published range per eye. After your screening you get a written quote for your eyes, with follow-up visits for the first year included.

  3. 03

    Risks on page one

Dry eye, halos, glare and the chance of a touch-up are part of the first conversation, not the consent form. You decide with the full picture.

The no policy

“If a screening ends with me saying no, the screening worked.”

Free screening

Find out what fits your eyes.

A free 90-minute screening, a surgeon who reads the results with you, and a written quote per eye if surgery makes sense. If it does not, we will tell you that too.
