Saturday morning screenings are open this month. Pick a time

Ridgeline

Surgeons and care team

The surgeon you meet is the surgeon who operates.

No hand-offs between a sales consultant, a surgeon you meet on the day, and a stranger at follow-up. Your surgeon reads your screening, does your surgery and sees you afterwards.

LASIK, PRK, SMILE, ICL

Dr. Maren Holt, MD

Founder, cornea and refractive surgeon

Dr. Holt trained in ophthalmology and completed a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery before opening Ridgeline in 2011. She built the screening around one idea: the map of your cornea should make the decision, not the sales calendar.

She operates two days a week and sees her own patients at every follow-up in the first year. Outside the clinic she is usually on a trail in the Wasatch with a camera and a thermos.

  • Board-certified ophthalmologist
  • Fellowship trained in cornea and refractive surgery
  • Sees her own patients at every follow-up
“If a screening ends with me saying no, the screening worked.”

Cataract surgery, lens exchange, glaucoma

Dr. Elias Brandt, MD

Cataract, lens and glaucoma surgeon

Dr. Brandt joined Ridgeline in 2019 to lead lens surgery and glaucoma care. He spends a long time on lens choices because, as he puts it, the right lens depends on how you spend your day, not on the brochure.

He welcomes adult children to consults and keeps a printed lens guide on his desk so families can take it home and talk it over.

  • Board-certified ophthalmologist
  • Fellowship trained in glaucoma
  • Performs cataract surgery with or without laser assistance
“A standard lens and a good pair of readers is a perfectly good outcome.”

Before and after surgery

The people you will talk to most

Dr. Adrian Solis, OD

Optometrist, screening and dry eye lead

Dr. Solis runs most screenings and the dry eye clinic. He is the person who tells you, gently, that your tears need a few weeks of work before anyone talks about lasers.

“Treat the surface first. Everything after goes better.”

Jada Whitfield, RN

Surgical coordinator

Jada walks you through surgery day, from the timing of your drops to who drives you home. She answers the after-hours line for post-op questions with the surgeon on call.

“No question is too small the night after surgery. Call.”

Questions to ask any surgeon, including ours

  • Will you personally do my surgery and my follow-ups?
  • What did my corneal map show, and why does it point to this option?
  • What side effects should I expect, and for how long?
  • What happens if I need an enhancement, and what does it cost?
  • Is there any option you would choose for your own eyes instead?

Free screening

Meet your surgeon at your screening.

A free 90-minute screening, a surgeon who reads the results with you, and a written quote per eye if surgery makes sense. If it does not, we will tell you that too.
