EV charger installation

Level 2 charging sized to your panel's real headroom — with the load calculation done before we quote, not after.

How we approach it

Most EV charger quotes skip the only question that matters: does your service have room for a 40–48 A continuous load? We run the demand calculation first. If your 100 A service has the headroom, we install the charger. If it doesn't, we'll show you the arithmetic and the three honest options — a smaller charger, a load-management device, or a service upgrade — with prices for each. What we won't do is land a 48 A charger on a maxed-out panel and let the main breaker referee.

Price book

Planning ranges for typical homes, HST extra. The firm number is written after a site visit — and includes the ESA permit as its own line.

EV charger installation price ranges
Job Range (CAD)
40 A plug-in circuit (14-50 receptacle) Charger plugs in; panel within 3 m; charger unit not included $750–$1,100
48 A hardwired circuit Direct-wired charger, panel within 3 m; charger unit not included $950–$1,400
Distance premium, 3–10 m run Conduit or fished cable to a garage or far wall $150–$350
Distance premium, 10 m+ or opposite side of house Longer runs, exterior conduit, or trenching to a detached garage priced after site visit $350–$700
Load-management device Sheds the charger when the house peaks — often beats a $4,000 service upgrade $650–$900

Honesty note Charger hardware runs $500–$950 depending on amperage and features; supply it yourself or have us include it — the labour price is the same either way. Rebate programs come and go; we'll check what applies when you book rather than promising last year's program.
