If a $40 strike-plate fix solves it, that's what we'll quote, not a new lock. Repairs outnumber replacements on our invoices two to one.

When people call us for this
- The key sticks, or you have to lift the door to lock it
- The deadbolt won't slide all the way into the frame
- A handle is loose, wobbly or broken
- You want a stronger lock on a front or side door
- You bought a lock and want it fitted right
how the job goes
Four steps, and the price comes first
-
step 01
Repair first
We check whether an adjustment, a new strike or some lubricant fixes it. Often it does.
-
step 02
Pick the grade
If you need new hardware, you choose Grade 2 or Grade 1. Both prices sit side by side on the quote.
-
step 03
Install and reinforce
Every install gets a reinforced strike plate with 3-inch screws at no extra charge.
-
step 04
Test and clean up
We test the lock with every key, haul away the old hardware, and leave the floor clean.

What customers said
Rated 5 out of 5
Storefront lever lockset“They put the ANSI grade of the hardware on the quote, which no other shop I called would do. Install was clean, and they re-hung the door closer while they were at it without charging extra.”

Broken key extraction“Half my key snapped off in a 1940s mortise lock. The tech got it out without drilling and talked me out of replacing the lock. Said it just needed graphite. Charged the extraction, nothing else.”

Questions about lock installation & repair
What do lock grades mean?
ANSI/BHMA grades rate how much abuse a lock can take. Grade 1 is the toughest, built for heavy commercial use. Grade 2 is a strong choice for most homes. Grade 3 is the lightest, and we don't recommend it for an outside door.
Can you install a lock I bought online?
Yes. Installing your hardware is $85 to $110 per lock. If the lock is a poor fit for your door, we'll tell you before we start.
Why does my deadbolt stick?
Most of the time the door has shifted and the bolt rubs on the strike plate. That's a repair, not a new lock. We'll adjust it and quote the fix first.
