Smart locks
Smart locks, set up so they actually work
Smart locks mostly fail for one reason: a door that doesn't line up. We check the door first, install the lock, set up the app with you, and wipe the factory codes before we go.

told straight
A smart lock on a misaligned door is a $300 doorbell. If your door needs adjusting first, that's a line on the quote, not a surprise on the invoice.
is this you?
When people call us for this
- You want to stop handing out keys to sitters, cleaners or guests
- You run a short-term rental and change guests often
- Your keypad lock jams or drains batteries fast
- You bought a smart lock and the box looks harder than expected
how the job goes
Four steps, and the price comes first
-
step 01
Door check
We test how the bolt lines up with the frame. A smart lock's motor can't push a bolt that rubs.
-
step 02
Install
We fit the lock and a reinforced strike plate, then test the bolt by hand and by motor.
-
step 03
App and codes, with you
We set up the app on your phone, add your codes, and delete the factory codes.
-
step 04
Backup drill
You practice the backup key and a battery change before we leave.

What customers said
Rated 4 out of 5
Smart lock install“Great work, honest price, and they wiped the factory codes in front of me. Four stars only because the arrival window was 2 to 4 and they rang at 3:50. They did call at 3 to warn me, which I appreciated.”

Questions about smart locks
What happens if the battery dies?
Every lock we supply has a physical key backup, and most warn you weeks before the battery runs low. We show you both before we leave.
Which smart lock should I buy?
Pick one with a physical key backup, a Grade 2 rating or better, and an app log of who came and went. Tell us the model and we'll say whether it fits your door.
Can you install a smart lock I already bought?
Yes. Installing and programming a lock you bought is $145 to $185, door check included.
