From the first conversation on the land to handover, a typical Verdant project runs nine to fourteen months. Each phase has named deliverables; the contract specifies them. Below: the full sequence, with a brief on what we ship in each.
First conversation, on the land
Ninety minutes, no fee. We walk the site with you, no drawings yet. Most first conversations end with a brief — a one-pager that captures what we heard.

Schematic design
Topographic survey by an outside firm. From the survey: schematic site plan, plant palette, materials specification, preliminary cost. Two design reviews with the client.

Design development
Detailed drawings: planting plan, lighting, irrigation, drainage. Construction documents at 60%. Final cost estimate. City permits applied for where needed (most projects need at least one).

Construction documents
100% CDs. Permit issued. Schedule confirmed. Crew assigned. The build starts when permit + schedule + crew all converge.

Build
Verdant runs the build with two foreperson teams. Stonework, planting, hardscape, irrigation. Weekly site review with the client; daily logs from the foreperson. Walk-throughs at hardscape complete and at planting complete.

Handover
Final walk-through with the principals. As-built drawings delivered. One-year warranty on every plant and material. Stewardship contract signed if the client wants ongoing care (most do).

Stewardship · year-round
Monthly visits in growing season; quarterly otherwise. Plant replacement at no charge in year one. Annual review with photographs and a plant census — the same census format as the original schedule.
