Gardenkeeping, not mow‑and‑blow

A designed garden is alive, and it changes every season. Our gardenkeeping team are horticulturists, not crews with trimmers. They keep the design on track by editing, pruning, feeding and renewing on a calendar written for your garden.

Gardenkeeping, the Verdant way

Most gardens look their best on handover day and slowly drift after that. Hedges lose their shape, borders fill with the wrong plants, and the idea behind the design fades. Gardenkeeping stops the drift.

Each garden gets its own care calendar, written by the horticulturist who looks after it. The same small team visits all year, so they know your garden and you know them.

What's included

  • Seasonal care calendar written per garden
  • Fine pruning & hedge architecture
  • Border editing, division & renewal planting
  • Spring start-up & standing-winter cut-downs
  • Lighting & irrigation seasonal checks
  • Priority access to our build crews for additions

Step by step

A gardenkeeping year

  1. Spring start-up

Cut back last year's stems, feed and edge the beds, and switch on irrigation and lighting.

  2. Summer care

Fine pruning, deadheading and watering checks through dry spells, so the garden peaks on time.

  3. Autumn renewal

Divide and replant, plant bulbs, and plan any changes with your designer.

  4. Standing winter

Grasses and seed heads stay up for frost and birds, and anything tender is protected.

Stated plainly

How gardenkeeping is priced

Gardenkeeping is a yearly membership, quoted per garden after a walk-round with our gardenkeeping manager. The price depends on the size of the garden and how many visits it needs.

  • One yearly fee, quoted in writing
  • The same small team at every visit
  • Members get first call on our build crews

Gardenkeeping in the portfolio

Three case studies where this part of the work did the heavy lifting. Each one tells the whole story, with timelines and the investment band.

  • Naturalistic Meadow

    Kestrel Hill Meadow

Half an acre of thirsty lawn became a fountain-grass meadow with mown paths. It is cut once a year and alive the other 364 days.

  • Outdoor Living Retreat

    A Writer's Garden Studio

A novelist needed forty steps between breakfast and the desk. We built a cedar-clad studio at the end of a gravel court, wrapped in a garden that does its best work in October.

    Alderbrook · 2023 · Investment $150,000 to $300,000

  • Classic Estate

    Stonebridge Arrival

A stone-and-stucco estate deserved better than cracked stamped concrete. We rebuilt the entire arrival sequence in full-range granite (drive, terraces and steps) to look a century old on day one.

    Harrow Point · 2025 · Investment $300,000 +

Client words

“We cancelled the irrigation contract and bought binoculars. Best trade we ever made.”

S. & L. Baptiste · Kestrel Hill

“Ewan's team noticed a blocked drain before we did and fixed it the same week. The garden is six years old and still looks like the drawings.”

C. Abara · Fernway

Questions about gardenkeeping

Do I need gardenkeeping to keep the plant guarantee?

No. The guarantee stands either way. Gardenkeeping is an invitation, never a condition.

Do you look after gardens you didn't build?

Sometimes, when the calendar has room. We start with a walk-round and an honest view of what the garden needs before we quote.

How often will you visit?

Most gardens need a visit every two to four weeks in the growing season and a few in winter. Your care calendar sets the exact rhythm.
