What moves the price
-
Height and trunk width
A 70 ft oak takes more climbing, more rigging and more chipping than a 25 ft pine. Size is the biggest single factor.
-
What's underneath
Open lawn means pieces can drop. A roof, a pool or a power line means every piece is lowered on a rope, which takes longer.
-
Access for the gear
If the chipper and the stump grinder can roll close, the job goes faster. A narrow gate or a steep slope adds hand-carrying.
-
Tree condition
Dead and storm-cracked trees are brittle and less predictable. They need more rigging and more care.
-
What you keep
Firewood rounds or chips left on site cost nothing extra and can shave the haul-away off the bill.
-
Timing
Planned work is priced from the book. Night, weekend and holiday storm work adds the posted 25 percent after-hours rate, nothing more.
