Reactive Dog Program

If walks feel like a battle, you are not alone, and your dog is not bad. Reactive dogs are usually worried or frustrated. We start one-to-one, away from the things that set your dog off, and build calm choices step by step. When your dog is ready, Calm Walkers lets you practise near other dogs in a small, safe group.

An honest note

Reactivity improves with time and practice, but no honest trainer can promise a dog who never reacts again. What we promise is a clear plan, patient coaching and calmer days. If your dog has a bite history, we will tell you that up front and may involve your vet.

Questions about the Reactive Dog Program

Will my dog ever be able to join a normal class?

Many do. Calm Walkers is the bridge. Some dogs are happiest with quiet walks for life, and that is a win too.

Do you use muzzles?

Only as a safety tool that your dog learns to love with treats and practice. A muzzle is never a punishment.
