Trainers
Five trainers, five dogs, one kind approach
Every trainer here has a dog of their own, a specialty they love, and the patience to explain things twice. Two of them are in the room for every group class.
Our trainers
-
Jess Comeau
Founder and head trainer
With Little Wins since 2015
- Reactive dogs
- Teen dogs
- Calm Walkers
Jess started Little Wins after years of walking her own reactive rescue at 6 a.m. to avoid everyone. She knows how lonely that feels, and she built the school she wished she had found.
- Their dog
- Pickle, a shepherd mix who now loves the farmers market
- Favourite training game
- The U-turn game, because it gets you out of any tight spot
-
Andre Thibodeau
Puppy and group class lead
With Little Wins since 2017
- Puppy Kindergarten
- Basic Obedience
- Family training
Andre has taught more puppy classes than he can count. He is the calm voice in a room full of tiny sharks, and he is great at getting kids involved.
- Their dog
- Biscuit, a yellow Lab with a strong opinion about tennis balls
- Favourite training game
- Name games, because a puppy who turns when called is half trained
-
Priya Raman
Behaviour and private lessons
With Little Wins since 2018
- Fear and anxiety
- Private lessons
- Muzzle training
Priya works with the dogs who need a little more patience: shy rescues, nervous greeters and dogs who find the world loud. She works closely with local vets when needed.
- Their dog
- Moose, a greyhound who has perfected the art of the nap
- Favourite training game
- Pattern games, because predictable feels safe
-
Owen MacLeod
Board and train lead
With Little Wins since 2019
- Board and train
- Recall
- Loose-leash walking
Owen runs our board and train program from his home in Bedford, where two guest dogs at a time join his border collie for daily lessons, walks and naps.
- Their dog
- Juno, a border collie who thinks every walk is a job
- Favourite training game
- Long-line recall in an open field on a quiet Sunday
-
Sam Doucette
Virtual coaching and puppy prep
With Little Wins since 2021
- Virtual coaching
- Puppy prep
- Crate training
Sam leads our online coaching and helps families get ready before a new puppy comes home. Sam also teaches the Thursday daytime puppy class when Andre is away.
- Their dog
- Kip, a small terrier mix who greets every video call
- Favourite training game
- Mat training, because a settled dog makes home calmer for everyone

How we keep getting better
Dog training keeps learning, and so do we. Here is what happens behind the scenes so every class feels the same high standard.
- Weekly case reviews Trainers talk through tricky dogs together every Monday morning.
- Ongoing courses Each trainer completes continuing education every year.
- Two trainers per class One teaches, one coaches the dogs who need a little extra help.
- Vet partnerships We work with your vet when pain, health or anxiety may be part of the picture.
