The building
A tower designed from the weather up — 26 storeys of stepped balconies, engineered calm and harbour light.
The story
Named after the weather it tames
West Harbour has one famous flaw: the afternoon westerly that comes off the water hard enough to close patios. Most towers here turn their backs to it. Arden & Vale Architects did the opposite — they modelled it, mapped it, and shaped the building so the wind works for the homes instead of against them.
The west elevation steps its balconies in a falling diagonal, each terrace sheltered by the one above and beside it. Computational wind studies set the offsets; the pattern that resulted is the building's face. It wasn't drawn as decoration — it was solved.
Inside, Studio Ferren kept the architecture's discipline: full-height glazing, wide-plank oak, stone-look porcelain, and three palettes — Dawn, Dusk and Meridian — all included in the purchase price.
