We are
A design studio that builds
Ines Albrecht spent eight years drawing kitchens for a cabinet maker. Marcus Oyelaran spent those same years building them for contractors who never met the designer. They kept meeting on job sites, fixing the gaps between two companies.
In 2012 they opened Tessera so one team could do both. The showroom came three years later, because clients kept asking to see the doors before they chose them.
We still take about 45 projects a year. That is how one project manager can know your house.
- 2012 the year we opened the studio
- ~45 kitchens and baths a year, on purpose
- 1 project manager for your whole build
- 2 yrs workmanship warranty, in writing
How we work
-
Design and build under one roof
The people who draw your kitchen work down the hall from the people who build it. Nothing gets lost between a designer and a contractor, because they are the same company.
-
A fixed price after design
You see ranges at the consultation, a firm price after design, and that price only moves if you change the scope.
-
One person to call
Your project manager writes a short update with photos every Friday and answers your calls during the build.
-
Leave the house better every day
Dust walls, floor protection, and a broom-clean site every afternoon. You still live there.
The people you'll meet
Plus a crew of carpenters and the licensed plumbing, electrical, and stone partners we have worked with for years.
-
Ines Albrecht
Co-founder, principal designer
Trained in interior architecture and drew kitchens for a cabinet maker for eight years before starting Tessera. She leads every design review.
-
Marcus Oyelaran
Co-founder, head of construction
A carpenter turned builder. Marcus walks every job before we price it and signs off every finished room himself.
-
Priya Nanduri
Kitchen designer
Cooks more than anyone in the studio, which is why her kitchens have the trash pull-out in the right place.
-
Dana Whitfield
Project manager
Runs the schedule, writes the Friday updates, and is the one number you call once the build starts.
-
Rafa Moreno
Lead carpenter
Installs our cabinets and trim. Rafa has a strong opinion about scribe moulding and is usually right.
-
Elle Kowalczyk
Showroom and selections
Keeps the slab library and sample walls in order and will let you take tile home for a week.
From our clients
-
“Their first proposal was over our budget. Instead of pushing, they showed us three ways to cut it, and we picked one.”
Andre W. · Kitchen, Arvada -
“Two weeks late because the glass was back-ordered. They told us the day they knew, and the rest went to plan.”
Paul G. · Walk-in shower, Lakewood -
“Honest about what we could get for our budget. That is why we hired them.”
