Questions
The things parents ask at the front desk most, answered in plain words. Cannot find yours? Call or email and a real person answers.
Getting started
Is the first class really free?
Yes. Every new dancer gets one free trial class in any style that fits their age. No card, no commitment. If you like it, we hold the spot for 48 hours while you decide.
Can we join in the middle of the season?
Yes, any time there is space. Tuition is prorated to the week you start. Join by January 31 to dance in the June show.
How do I know which level is right?
Book a trial in the level we suggest from the age and experience you give us. The teacher will tell you after class if another level fits better, and switching in the first month is free.
Can parents watch class?
Through the big lobby window, any class, any week. The last class of each month is an open class where families can come in and sit at the front.
Classes and dress code
What age can my child start?
Tiny Toes starts at age 2 with a grown-up in class. Little Movers runs on their own from age 3, and most styles start at age 6.
What should we wear to a free trial?
Comfortable clothes they can move in, hair tied back, and bare feet or clean indoor sneakers. Nobody needs to buy shoes or dancewear before the trial.
Do boys take dance here?
Yes, in every style. About a third of our hip hop dancers are boys, and every dress code has a t-shirt and shorts option.
My child has a disability or medical need. Can they dance?
Very likely, yes. Tell us on the trial form or call the front desk, and we will talk through the right class and anything the teacher should know.
Fees and payments
How is tuition charged?
Monthly, from September to June, on the first of the month by card or bank payment. The rate depends on how many minutes a week your dancer takes. See the tuition page for every rate and discount.
What if we miss a class?
Book a make-up in any class at the same level within four weeks. We do not refund single missed classes.
How do we stop?
Give 30 days' notice by email. No exit fee and no questions. Costume fees already charged are not refundable once costumes are ordered.
Do you offer help with fees?
Yes. We hold a few reduced-tuition spots every season. Ask the front desk privately; nobody else will know.
The June Show
Does every dancer have to perform?
No. The show is optional. Opt out by November 15 and you pay no recital or costume fee.
How much does the show cost in total?
For one class: a costume ($60 to $110) plus the recital fee (about $65, with two tickets). Extra tickets are $20 to $26. That is all of it.
How long is the show?
No show runs past about 1 hour 50 minutes, and the preschool show is about 75 minutes. Every dancer is in one show only.
Safety and the studio
Who teaches my child?
Every teacher and assistant has a current criminal record check (vulnerable sector) and first aid on file. Assistants are never alone with a class.
What are the floors like?
Both studios have sprung floors with a dance surface on top. They absorb impact, which matters for growing joints, jumps and breaking.
Do you post photos of students?
Only with written permission, and never with a child's name. You can say no on the registration form and change your mind any time.
Fees in detail are on the tuition page; show dates and costume timing are on the June Show page.
