About Hip Hop

Good for

  • Kids who say dance is not for them
  • Boys looking for a crew
  • Dancers who want a second, looser style

Hip hop is often the class that brings a kid into the studio who never thought dance was for them. We teach it properly: the bounce and rock first, then the foundations, then choreography.

Breaking Basics adds toprock, footwork and safe freezes on our sprung floor. Every song is a clean edit, and every move suits the age of the room.

"My son swore dance was not for him. Hip hop with Jordan changed that in one class. Clean music, and nobody forced him into the circle."

Hip Hop: questions

My son has never danced. Will he feel out of place?

Unlikely. About a third of our hip hop dancers are boys, and Hip Hop 1 and Breaking Basics are built for total beginners. The free trial is the easy way to find out.

Is the music clean?

Always. Jordan edits every track himself, and the lyrics and moves suit the age of the class.

Is breaking safe for kids?

We teach it on a sprung floor, build strength before freezes, and never let a dancer try a power move they are not ready for.
