Nora Vance
Founder & director · piano, Little Notes · 19 years teaching
- MM, Piano Pedagogy — Deerfield Conservatory
- Early-childhood music certification (birth–age 7)
- Background-checked annually, like all staff
Nora opened The Practice Room in 2014 after a decade of watching schools bury families in fees and bury kids in exam pressure. She teaches piano from age five to age seventy-something, leads the Tuesday Little Notes circles, and wrote the no-hidden-fees policy taped to the front desk.

Devon Marsh
Guitar · Rock Band Lab · Adult Band Night · 12 years teaching
- BM, Jazz Guitar — Milton College of Music
- Rock Band Lab founding coach (2017)
- Background-checked annually, like all staff
Devon gigged for years before deciding he liked Tuesdays better than tour vans. He teaches acoustic, electric, bass, and the ukulele-first path for small hands, and he runs the Rock Band Lab like a band, not a class — because that's the point.

- Background-checked annually, like all staff
Yuki starts violinists as young as four — with a caregiver in the room and a 1/16-size instrument in tiny hands — and keeps teens through their first concerto. Her studio motto is on the wall in two languages: sound before speed.

- Kids Choir director since 2018 · lessons in English or Spanish
- Background-checked annually, like all staff
Carmen sang professionally for a decade and now teaches voice the way she wishes she'd been taught: technique without mystique, styles without snobbery. She directs the no-audition Kids Choir and hosts the adults-only Living Room Sessions where stage fright goes to shrink.

Jerome Whitaker
Drums & percussion · Rock Band Lab · 11 years teaching
- Eight years touring (national club circuits) before teaching
- Percussive Arts pedagogy coursework — Milton College of Music
- Background-checked annually, like all staff
Jerome spent eight years on tour deciding exactly which drum skills matter and which are showing off. He starts six-year-olds on pads, teens on the kit, and adults on the groove they've been air-drumming since high school. Households are issued earplugs and honest practice schedules.

The standard behind the bios
Every teacher is background-checked annually, holds a music degree or documented professional experience, and sits a re-audit lesson with Nora twice a year. We publish that because plenty of schools won't.
Switching teachers is allowed, and it isn't weird
Fit beats loyalty. The request goes through the front desk, the
handoff is warm, and it happens a handful of times a year without a
single hallway grudge. It's in the FAQ
because families are always surprised we volunteer it.
