Questions, answered

Straight answers, before you book

Everything people ask us before their first class, with the policies written out in full. If your question isn't here, write to us and a person will answer.

Your first visit

I've never done Pilates. Which class do I book?

Reformer Foundations, always. It's built for first-timers, the teacher sets your equipment, and the intro offer (3 classes for $49) is the designed way in. If stepping into any group feels like too much, a single private session first is a lovely runway.

What do I wear and bring?

Leggings or anything you can move in, nothing slippery. Grip socks are required; bring your own or grab a pair at the desk for $6 (free with your first intro class). We provide everything else, including the water you forgot.

Do I need to be fit or flexible to start?

No. Foundations works at your pace, every exercise has a smaller version, and nobody is watching anyone else. Most first-timers are surprised by how much attention the class gives to small details rather than big effort.

How early should I arrive?

Ten minutes before your first class, so your teacher can set your springs and show you the reformer. After that, five minutes is plenty.

Booking and cancelling

How do I book a class?

Online, in five quick steps: class, day, time, your details, then a final review. Members can book 14 days ahead; pack holders and drop-ins can book 7 days ahead.

What's the cancellation policy, honestly?

Release your spot 12 or more hours before class and the credit returns automatically. Inside 12 hours, the class is used. No hidden fees, no strikes system. The policy exists so waitlisted members get your spot in time to use it. Privates need 24 hours' notice.

What if a class is full?

Join the waitlist from the schedule. If a spot opens, we email and text you, and you have 30 minutes to claim it. Unlimited members get priority on full classes.

What if I'm running late?

Doors close five minutes after the start, because the first exercises set up everything that follows. If you miss it, we'll move you into a later class if there's space.

Prices, packs and memberships

What exactly is the intro offer?

Three group classes (Foundations or Flow) for $49, for new clients only, to use within 30 days of your first class. Unused classes expire after the 30 days. It doesn't auto-renew, and it's an ongoing offer with no end date.

Do class packs expire?

Yes, and the dates are printed on the pricing page: a 5-class pack lasts 3 months, a 10-class pack 6 months, and a 20-class pack 12 months, starting the day you buy. We email you two weeks before expiry, and we'll extend a pack once by a month if you ask before it runs out.

How do I cancel or pause a membership?

Email us with 30 days' notice to cancel. There's no contract and no exit interview. You can also pause for up to two months a year at no charge for injury, travel, or anything else.

Are prices before or after tax?

All prices are in Canadian dollars, with HST added at checkout. There are no booking fees, initiation fees, or equipment fees.

Health, injury and pregnancy

Please read first. Pregnant, recently postpartum, or working around an injury or surgery? Please check with your doctor, midwife, or physiotherapist before you book, and tell your teacher before class. We teach movement; we don't diagnose or treat.

Can I do reformer Pilates while pregnant?

Talk to your doctor or midwife first, and start only once they've said yes. Then book a private with Sofie, who leads our pregnancy and postpartum work, so she can adapt the springs and exercises for you. After the birth, wait until your doctor or midwife clears you to return.

I'm recovering from an injury. Is reformer work safe for me?

That's a question for your doctor or physiotherapist, not for us. If they say reformer work is a good idea, bring their guidance and book a private first so your teacher can plan around it. We teach movement; we don't diagnose or treat injuries, and we'll tell you if something sounds like it needs a clinician first.

My physio suggested Pilates. How do I start?

Book a private session and bring any notes or exercises your physio gave you. Your teacher will read them, ask about your history, and keep written notes that carry into group classes when you're ready.

Will Pilates change my body or help me lose weight?

We don't make promises about anyone's body or weight. What we can promise is careful teaching, a small room, and classes you'll want to keep coming back to. If you have a specific health goal, your doctor is the right person to plan it with.

The studio

Where do I park?

There's a Green P lot two doors north and free 1-hour street parking after 10 a.m. Streetcars 504 and 506 stop half a block away at Roncesvalles and Fermanagh.

Is the studio accessible?

The studio is all on one level with no stairs, and the washroom is accessible. If getting on and off a reformer is difficult for you, tell us when you book and your teacher will plan for it.

Are there change rooms and lockers?

Yes: two change rooms with lockers, plus hooks and shelves in the lobby. We're fragrance-free, so please skip strong perfume or scented lotion.

Gifts and the retreat

Do you sell the intro offer as a gift?

Yes. Email or call us and we'll set it up under the recipient's name with a handwritten card at the desk. It's become a quietly popular baby-shower gift, which we take as the highest compliment.

How does the retreat deposit work?

A $250 deposit holds your spot once we confirm you from the waitlist. The balance is due a month before the retreat, with a full refund until then; after that, we refund whatever we can re-fill.

Begin quietly. It suits you.

Your first 3 classes are $49: a real month of practice, not a sales funnel. Book your first Foundations class in under a minute.
