If yours isn't here, our intake team picks up the phone every weekday from 7:30am to 8pm — a real human, not a chatbot. Or email and we'll write back inside one business day.
Booking + first session
4 answers in this section.
How fast can I be seen?
Most members are booked within four days. Same-day and next-day slots are usually available across the five clinics — call any location to ask.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No. Physiotherapy, chiropractic, RMT, and athletic therapy are all direct-access in Ontario — you can self-refer. Some insurance plans require a physician note for reimbursement; check yours, or call us with your card and we'll check for you.
What should I wear?
Whatever you can move in. Shorts and a t-shirt for lower-body sessions, a tank or sports bra for upper-body or pelvic. We have spares at every clinic if you forget.
How long is a first session?
Sixty minutes. Always. We need that time to do a real movement screen, find the actual driver, and start treatment in the same visit. Follow-ups are 45 (physio, RMT) or 30 (chiro).
Insurance + cost
4 answers in this section.
Do you direct-bill insurance?
Yes — 95% of major Canadian extended-health plans, including Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Green Shield, Pacific Blue Cross, Equitable Life, Desjardins, and Industrial Alliance. We process the claim at the front desk so you only pay the gap.
Can I claim under HSA / FSA?
Most health spending accounts and flex-spending accounts cover physiotherapy, chiropractic, RMT, and athletic therapy as eligible expenses. We provide a tax receipt at the end of every session.
Are sessions tax-deductible?
Yes — therapy with regulated providers (PT, RMT, DC, AT) qualifies as a medical expense under Canadian tax law. We email an annual statement every January.
Cancellation policy?
Cancellations more than 24 hours ahead — no charge. Less than 24 hours — full session fee, unless it's a genuine emergency. We're flexible about emergencies. Late shows beyond 15 minutes count as a missed session.
Treatment + progress

How many sessions will I need?
Most members are discharged in 6–12 sessions. We tell you our best estimate at the end of session one — and we adjust it after week three if reality looks different. We don't pad the timeline.
What if I don't feel better after one session?
Tell us. Some patterns take three or four sessions before something shifts — but we should be able to predict that on day one. If we said you'd feel different in session one and you don't, that's a re-assessment, not 'try a few more.'
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes — for follow-up sessions, exercise progressions, post-op check-ins, and consultation. First sessions are always in-person; you can't screen movement properly through a webcam.
What about return-to-sport testing?
Late-stage rehab isn't optional at Stride — it's where most clinics drop the ball. Our athletic therapists run force-plate, hop-tests, agility, and sport-specific demand testing. You don't get cleared to compete unless those numbers are there.
Privacy + records

Where do my records live?
Encrypted, on Canadian servers, governed by PHIPA + our internal privacy policy. We never sell or share patient data. You can request a copy of your file any time — we'll email it within three business days.
Can I switch practitioners?
Yes, anytime, no questions. Your file follows you. If switching is awkward (small clinic, smaller team), our intake lead handles the transition for you so it's not a conversation you have to have.
Do you share notes with my doctor?
Only with your written consent — but we encourage it. A short clinical summary to your family doctor helps consolidate your care. We use a one-page consent form at intake; you can decline.
Email us. We'll write back.
Our intake team replies to every email within one business day. Call any clinic during hours if it's faster — a real person picks up.
