About us
A brighter way to straighten teeth
Brightwell opened in 2012 with a simple idea: orthodontics is a long relationship, so it should feel like one. Clear prices, plain answers, and a team that is glad to see you.
Our story
Dr. Maya Okafor-Lind started Brightwell after years of watching families leave consults more confused than when they came in. Too many numbers, too much pressure, not enough explaining.
So Brightwell did the opposite. Prices went on the website. Consults got longer. Every plan came home in writing. Dr. Theo Brandvold joined in 2018 to lead adult and surgical cases, and the after-school evenings followed soon after.
Today we care for kids, teens and adults from Madison, Middleton, Fitchburg, Verona, Monona and Sun Prairie.
How we work
-
Explain, then decide
You see your scan, the options and the price before anyone asks for a yes. Questions are part of the visit, not a delay.
-
Honest timelines
Treatment times are ranges. We tell you what speeds things up, what slows them down, and where you stand at each visit.
-
Built around school and work
Tuesday and Thursday evenings, two Saturday mornings a month, and photo check-ins for aligner patients.
-
Kind to nervous patients
No goopy impressions, a heads-up before every step, and a quiet room if the open bay feels like a lot.
The office
A bright second-floor space on Willowbrook Ave with big windows and an elevator.
- Digital 3D scanner instead of impression trays
- Low-dose 3D imaging, used only when it changes the plan
- Open, sunny treatment bay plus two private rooms
- Charging station and Wi-Fi for parents who work while they wait
- Free parking behind the building and a bus stop two minutes away
In the community
Mouthguards for every youth team that asks
Coaches in our area can request free mouthguards for their players each season, braces or not. We also visit a few school health fairs a year to talk about first orthodontic checks. No sales pitch, just answers.
Your first visit is free.
Exam, photos, a 3D scan and a written plan with the price. About an hour, and no pressure to start.
