Adults of any age with healthy gums
Adult orthodontics
It is not too late. About one in four of our patients is an adult.
- Typical time
- 6 to 24 months
- Visits
- Every 6 to 12 weeks, with early and late appointments
- Typical cost
- From $2,800 for a minor fix
How it works
Teeth can move at any age as long as the gums and bone are healthy. Adults come to us for crowding that bothers them, a bite that wears teeth down, teeth that shifted after braces as a kid, or to make room before a dentist places an implant or crown. We plan around work, travel and meetings, and we coordinate with your dentist so everyone is on the same page.
Often a good fit for
- Teeth that moved after childhood braces
- Crowding that makes flossing hard
- Uneven wear from a bite that does not line up
- Making space before an implant, crown or bridge
Only an exam can say for sure. The consult is free.

Day to day
- Most adults choose clear brackets or aligners. Coworkers rarely notice.
- Plan big presentations away from start day. Speech settles within a couple of days.
- Keep up regular cleanings with your dentist during treatment.
The honest part
Adult teeth can move a bit more slowly, and gum health matters more. If your gums need care first, we will say so and point you to the right person.
