About us
A fence crew that writes the price down.
Stringline started in 2012 with one truck, one post-hole digger and a simple idea: show people the price per foot, then build a fence that stays straight.
Why the name
A string line is the cheapest tool on a fence crew and the most important. You stretch it tight between the corner posts, and every post in between lines up to it. Skip it, and the fence wanders.
Dana Whitlock spent eight years on crews around the Upstate before starting Stringline. The fences were fine. The quotes were not: one number on a napkin, gates folded in, extras showing up on the final bill. So she wrote a price book, priced every gate on its own line, and started handing it to customers.
Thirteen years and 2,400+ fences later, that is still how we work. Price per foot in writing, posts in concrete, a string line on every run, and a yard left cleaner than we found it.

How we work
Four promises on every job
-
Straight lines
A string line on every run, posts checked with a level, and a crew lead who will reset a post that is off.
-
Straight prices
Price per foot by material, gates and extras on their own lines, and a written quote we hold for 60 days.
-
Clean yards
Post-hole dirt spread or hauled, scraps removed, and a magnet sweep for screws before we leave.
-
Honest advice
We will tell you when repair beats replacing, when chain link is enough, and when your HOA will say no.
