FAQ
Questions people ask us before they call.
Short answers in plain words. Still not sure? Call and ask a person.
Repairs
How fast can you come out?
Call before 2 p.m. and most repairs are done the same day, seven days a week. Doors stuck open or cars trapped inside get the 24/7 line, and a tech is usually there within about two hours.
What does the $89 visit fee cover?
The trip, the diagnosis and a written price. If you approve the repair on that visit, the fee is waived. If you decide not to, the $89 is all you pay. Care plan members never pay it.
Should I replace both springs if only one broke?
Usually, yes. Springs on the same door wear at the same rate, so the second one tends to break soon after the first. We show you the price for one and for both, and you choose. There is no pressure either way.
Can I open the door by hand if a spring is broken?
Please do not. With a broken spring the door can weigh 150 pounds or more and drop fast. If a car is trapped, call us and we will talk you through what is safe while a tech heads your way.
New doors
How long does a new door take?
Most doors arrive in two to three weeks after you order. Custom colors and windows can add a week or two. The install itself takes about half a day, and you can use the door the same day.
Is the measure visit really free?
Yes. We bring samples, measure the opening, check headroom and your opener, and leave a written price. The price holds for 60 days.
Do you take away the old door?
Yes, always. Removal and haul-away are in every new door price, along with new tracks, springs and weather seal.
Will my HOA approve the door?
We keep the approved color and style lists for many valley HOAs on file. If yours is not on the list, we give you a spec sheet to send to the board before you order.
Pricing and plans
Why publish prices when other companies do not?
Because a $19 service call that turns into a $900 bill is the most common complaint in this trade. Our ranges are real, and the written price before work is the one you pay.
Do you charge more at night or on weekends?
Daytime weekend repairs cost the same as weekdays. After 7 p.m. and before 7 a.m. there is a flat $95 after-hours fee, printed on the quote before any work starts.
Can I cancel a maintenance plan?
Yes. Plans renew once a year and you can cancel any time before renewal with a call or email.
What warranty do I get?
Standard springs carry 5 years on parts, high-cycle springs 10 years, repair labor 1 year and new door installs 2 years. Makers' warranties on doors and openers are registered for you.
