Most common call
Broken spring replacement
Heard a loud bang from the garage and now the door will not lift? That was almost always a spring. We replace it the same day, with the price in writing first.
- from $190
- Most spring jobs take 45 to 90 minutes.
Safety first
Please do not try to wind or adjust a torsion spring yourself. It stores enough force to break bones. If the door is stuck open, keep cars and people out from under it and call us. What to do right now
How we do it
Springs do the heavy lifting, not the opener. A two-car steel door can weigh 150 pounds or more, and the torsion spring above it is wound tight enough to hurt someone. When it snaps, the door gets very heavy and the opener strains or quits.
We carry the common spring sizes on every van, so most jobs are done in one visit. We weigh the door, match the spring to it, and balance the door so it stays put when you let go at waist height. If the other spring is the same age, we will tell you that it is likely next, show you the price for doing both, and let you choose.
Call us when
- A loud bang from the garage, like a firecracker
- The door goes up a few inches, then stops or slams back down
- You can see a gap in the coil of the spring above the door
- The opener hums but the door feels like it weighs a ton
- A cable is hanging loose beside the door
Every job includes
- Door weighed and spring sized to it, not guessed
- Door balanced and tested at three heights
- Rollers, hinges and bearings checked while we are up there
- Old springs shown to you, then hauled away
- Written warranty on parts and labor

5 out of 5 stars
Spring snapped at 6:40 on a school morning with both cars inside. Called at 7, Ruben was here by 10:30. He showed me the price on his tablet first, explained why both springs should go, and had it done in an hour. Fair price, no drama.

Good work at a fair price. The tech was about 40 minutes later than the window, but the office texted me ahead of time so I was not left guessing. Door has been perfect since.
