Common questions

Straight answers about products, pets, billing and rain days.

Plans and billing

Is there a contract?

No. Plans renew each spring only if you say yes. You can pause or cancel between visits with a text, and there is no cancellation fee.

How does billing work?

Plans are split into eight equal monthly payments from April to November, on the card you keep on file. Single services are billed after each visit. Ohio sales tax applies to lawn care and is shown on every invoice.

Why is my price a range?

Because lawn size, slopes, gates and obstacles change the time a visit takes. The estimate uses your size band, and we confirm one firm price after measuring on the first visit. If the measured price would be higher than your range, we ask before charging it.

Treatments and safety

What do you actually put on my lawn?

Granular slow-release fertilizer, a crabgrass pre-emergent in spring, selective broadleaf herbicides as a spot spray, and, on the Whole Yard plan, one preventive grub product in June. Every visit note lists the product names and rates.

When can kids and pets go back on the lawn?

After a liquid spot spray, once it has dried, usually 1 to 2 hours. After granular products, once they have been watered in by rain or a sprinkler. Always follow the label. Mowing, aeration and leaf visits have no restrictions.

Are your technicians licensed?

Yes. Ohio requires anyone who applies weed control for hire to hold a commercial pesticide applicator license, and every technician who treats your lawn holds one.

Is any of this chemical-free?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. If you want fewer products, ask about our reduced-input option: organic-based fertilizer, hand-pulling where practical, and spraying only with your approval.

Mowing and scheduling

What day will you come?

Each neighborhood has a route day, so your mow day stays the same all season. You will see yours on the service area page and in your welcome text.

What if it rains?

We do not mow wet lawns or treat right before heavy rain. Your visit moves to the next good day and you get a text with the new day.

Do I need to be home?

No. Leave the gate unlocked or share a gate code, and tell us about pets so the crew knows before they open the gate.

Getting started

How fast can you start?

Mowing usually starts within a week in our service area. Treatment programs start with whichever round is next on the calendar, so you never pay for a round that is already past.

Do you serve my street?

We serve Hilliard, Upper Arlington, Grandview Heights, Dublin, Worthington, Clintonville, Westerville and Powell. Outside those areas, leave your address and we will text you if a route opens near you.

Still wondering?

Text a photo of your lawn and your question. We usually answer within the hour on weekdays.
