- Spot-sprayed dandelions by the mailbox and back fence

How we do it
A thick lawn is the best weed control there is, so most of each round is feeding. The program has six rounds timed to central Ohio's season, from a crabgrass pre-emergent in early spring to a winterizer in late fall. Broadleaf weeds get spot-sprayed where they actually are. We measure your turf area on the first visit so the product rate matches your lawn, not a guess.
When: Six rounds, about 5 to 7 weeks apart, from late March to November. Weeds that pop up between rounds get a free re-spray visit.
On every visit
- Walk the lawn and note weeds, thin spots, insects and mowing height
- Apply the round's granular fertilizer with a calibrated spreader
- Spot-spray broadleaf weeds where they are growing, not the whole lawn
- Place a small yard flag at the front of the treated lawn
- Text a visit note listing each product, the rate and when the lawn is safe to walk on
Plain about products
What goes on your lawn
Granular slow-release nitrogen fertilizer, phosphorus-free unless a soil test shows your lawn needs it. A crabgrass pre-emergent in early spring (usually prodiamine or dithiopyr). Selective broadleaf herbicides that target weeds without harming grass, applied as a spot spray. Product names and rates are listed on every visit note, and we will email the labels on request.
Kids and pets
When the lawn is ready again
Keep kids and pets off treated areas until a liquid spray has dried, usually 1 to 2 hours. Granular fertilizer is fine to walk on once rain or a sprinkler has watered it in. Always follow the product label. We text you the morning of each treatment so you can plan the dog's day.

Book this when
- Crabgrass took over the edges by the driveway last August
- Dandelions and clover keep coming back in the same spots
- The lawn looks pale and thin even though you mow it every week
- You tried the bag-of-the-month routine and lost track by June
Questions about fertilization
Is the program safe for my dog?
Used as labeled, yes, with one rule: keep pets off until a liquid spray has dried, usually 1 to 2 hours, and off granular fertilizer until it has been watered in. We text the morning of every treatment, and the visit note tells you when the lawn is ready.
Why do I still see weeds a week after a round?
Broadleaf weed control works through the plant, so weeds curl and fade over 10 to 14 days instead of vanishing overnight. If they are still standing after two weeks, text us and we come back to re-spray at no charge.
Do you offer an organic or chemical-free program?
We offer a reduced-input option: organic-based fertilizer, hand-pulling where it is practical, and spot spraying only with your approval. It is gentler, it is slower and it is not chemical-free, so we will not call it that.
