Fall leaf cleanup, visit 1 of 2
- Beds and fence line cleared
- Three truck loads to the compost site
- Driveway and patio blown clean
Safe to walk on: right away
How we do it
A mat of wet leaves left on a lawn over winter blocks light and invites snow mold. Light leaf cover is easiest to handle by mulching it into the lawn with the mower, which feeds the soil. Heavy cover gets blown out of beds and off the lawn, vacuumed into the truck and hauled to a yard-waste compost site. Most yards with big trees need two visits: one at peak drop and one after the oaks finish.
When: Late October to early December. Spring cleanup (sticks, matted grass, bed edges) is booked in March and April.
On every visit
- Blow leaves out of beds, fence lines and corners
- Mulch light cover into the lawn with the mower
- Vacuum or tarp the heavy piles into the truck
- Haul everything to a yard-waste compost site, with no bags left at your curb
- Clean off the driveway, walks and patio before we leave

- You are selling the house this fall and want it looking sharp
Questions about leaf cleanup
Can you just mulch the leaves into the lawn?
Up to a point, yes, and it is good for the lawn. Once the leaf layer hides more than about half the grass, mulching leaves a mat behind, so we remove the excess.
Do you take the leaves away?
Yes. Everything we collect is hauled to a yard-waste compost site. You will not find bags at the curb.
