Seasonal plans

Three plans. One calm season.

Each plan puts the right visit in the right month for central Ohio, then splits the season into eight equal payments from April to November. Pick your lawn size to see your range.

Plans and prices

Medium lawn: 5,000 to 9,000 sq ft of turf, most suburban homes on a quarter acre.

Ranges come straight from the per-visit prices on the pricing page. Ohio sales tax is extra. Over 20,000 sq ft, we measure and quote in person.

Your season, visit by visit

What happens on each visit from late March to November, and which plans include it. Pick a plan to highlight its visits.

  1. Early spring

    Late March to April

    • Round 1: first feeding + crabgrass pre-emergent

Slow-release fertilizer for green-up, and a pre-emergent that stops crabgrass seeds from sprouting along the driveway and walks.

Included in: FeedFeed + MowWhole Yard

    • First mow of the year

Usually mid-April, once the grass is actively growing. The first cut is a little lower to clean up winter debris.

Included in: Feed + MowWhole Yard

  2. Late spring

    May

    • Round 2: feeding + broadleaf weed spot spray

Dandelions, clover and plantain are up and easy to target. We spray where they are, not the whole lawn.

Included in: FeedFeed + MowWhole Yard

    • Weekly mowing at 3.5 inches

Peak growth. Rain make-ups run on Saturdays in May and June.

Included in: Feed + MowWhole Yard

  3. Early summer

    June

    • Round 3: light feeding + spot spray

A lighter feeding before summer heat, plus a pass for any weeds that slipped through.

Included in: FeedFeed + MowWhole Yard

    • Preventive grub control

One granular application before beetle eggs hatch, watered in by rain or irrigation.

      Included in: Whole Yard

  4. Summer

    July and August

    • Round 4: weed spot spray + lawn health check

No heavy feeding in the heat. We check for insects, disease and drought stress and send watering advice.

Included in: FeedFeed + MowWhole Yard

    • Mowing height raised to 4 inches

Taller grass shades the soil and survives dry spells. In a real drought we skip visits rather than mow brown grass.

Included in: Feed + MowWhole Yard

  5. Early fall

    September

    • Round 5: feeding + fall weed control

Fall is the best time to knock out perennial weeds, because they are pulling energy down to their roots.

Included in: FeedFeed + MowWhole Yard

    • Core aeration + overseeding

Plugs pulled, seed spread, and a three-week watering plan on your visit note.

      Included in: Whole Yard

  6. Late fall

    October to November

    • Round 6: winterizer feeding

Feeds the roots before dormancy, for an earlier and thicker green-up next spring.

Included in: FeedFeed + MowWhole Yard

    • Final mows, a little lower

The last cut of the year goes to about 3 inches so matted grass does not invite snow mold.

Included in: Feed + MowWhole Yard

    • Fall leaf cleanup

Leaves cleared from the lawn and beds and hauled to a compost site.

      Included in: Whole Yard

  7. Winter

    December to February

    Rest, and a season summary

In January you get a one-page summary of your lawn's year and next season's price. Plans renew only if you say yes.

The fine print, in large print

  • No contract. Plans renew each spring only if you say yes.
  • Pause or cancel between visits with a text. No fee, and you only pay for visits that happened.
  • Joining mid-season? You start with the next round on the calendar and never pay for one that is already past.
  • In a real drought we skip mowing visits instead of cutting brown grass, and those visits come off your bill.
  • None of the plans are chemical-free. Every product is named on your visit notes. Want fewer? Ask about the reduced-input option.
