Repairs and monitoring

Solar should be boring. When it isn't, we look at the monitoring data first, then send a tech with the right part. Systems other companies installed are welcome, including ones whose installer has closed.

Costs and times are typical ranges for a fictional demo company, shown as estimates before any incentive programs. Your fixed quote replaces them after we check your home.

What's included

Everything in the price, listed

  • Remote check of your production against your system's own estimate
  • Inverter, microinverter and optimizer swaps, with warranty claims handled for you
  • Leak and flashing repair at panel mounts
  • Remove and reinstall panels for a re-roof
  • Critter guards and damaged-wiring repairs
  • A yearly production report in plain words

Is it right for you?

When it makes sense, and when we'd tell you to skip it

Good fit if

  • Your app shows a panel, or the whole system, at zero
  • Production dropped and you don't know why
  • You need a new roof and the panels have to come off
  • The company that installed your system is gone

Probably skip it if

  • Dusty panels: rain and snow clean them well enough here, and paid washing rarely pays for itself

Honestly: If a fix costs more than the system will ever earn back, we'll tell you, even when that means a smaller job for us.

  4. 04

    Repair visit

A neighbor's experience

What it looked like for a neighbor

Five years in, still boringly reliable

One of their earlier installs (2021). An optimizer failed last fall; it was covered and swapped in a week. Panels are producing at 98% of year-one levels, right on the curve printed in our contract. Boring is exactly what you want on your roof.

Questions about repairs and monitoring

Straight answers

All FAQs →
Do you service systems you didn't install?

Yes, most brands and most ages. We look at the monitoring data and photos first, then quote a fixed price before any visit.

What does monitoring actually catch?

A panel that stops producing, an inverter fault, a slow drop from shade or damage, and a system that's off after an outage. Panel-level monitoring shows exactly which part is behind.

How much does removing panels for a re-roof cost?

It depends on the number of panels and the roof. We quote a fixed price from photos. Plan for it before you hire a roofer so the two jobs line up.
