Solar panels

A rooftop system sized to about 90% of what your home actually uses, designed from a measured roof and a real shade study. You own it from day one, and we publish how it performs against our estimate.

What's included

Everything in the price, listed

  • Free site assessment with an instrument shade study
  • Engineered layout and a month-by-month production estimate
  • Panels, racking, inverter or microinverters, and all wiring
  • Permits, the utility application and the final inspection
  • Panel-level monitoring set up on your phone
  • Closeout packet: photos of every roof mount, serial numbers, all warranties

Is it right for you?

When it makes sense, and when we'd tell you to skip it

Good fit if

  • Your roof faces south, east or west and gets sun most of the day
  • Your roof has 10 or more years of life left, or you're re-roofing first
  • You own the home and plan to stay a while

Probably skip it if

  • Your only open roof faces north
  • Big trees shade the roof most of the day and you'd rather keep them
  • Your bill is already small (under about $70 a month)

Honestly: We size to about 90% of your usage on purpose. Building bigger mostly adds to the invoice, because extra power you send to the grid is usually credited below what you pay for it. Any savings we show you are estimates, with the rate, usage and sun hours printed beside them.

Ran their online estimate ($21k to $25k) and expected the usual bait-and-switch. Final engineered quote: $22,400. The install took a day and a half, and the crew photographed every roof mount for the closeout packet.

Questions about solar panels

Straight answers

All FAQs →
How many panels will my house need?

It depends on your usage, roof direction and shade. Many Front Range homes land between 14 and 28 panels. The calculator gives a ballpark; the site assessment gives the real number.

Will panels damage my roof?

Not when the mounts are flashed and sealed properly. We photograph every one and cover our roof work for 10 years. On metal roofs we can often clamp on without drilling at all.

What will I save?

We can only estimate it, and we show how. Your savings depend on your rate plan, your usage and the sun your roof gets. We print those assumptions next to every number, and we never guarantee a payback date.
