Deadline: Workers' comp: notify your employer within 30 days, file within 2 years. Third-party lawsuits: generally 3 years — and Labor Law cases reward early site investigation.

Deadline: Generally 2 years and 6 months in New York — shorter than other injury claims. Discovery-based extensions exist for missed cancer diagnoses (Lavern's Law) and foreign objects, but never assume you have time.
