Columbus, Ohio · Since 2004 · No fee unless we recover money for you

Hurt on the road? We take it from here.

Calder & Rowe is a road injury firm in Columbus, Ohio. We represent riders, cyclists, people on foot and passengers hurt by careless and drunk drivers, including drivers who fled or had no insurance.

How we work

  • A person answers, any hour

Crashes happen at night and on weekends. Our intake line is answered 24 hours a day, and a lawyer calls you back, usually the same day.

  • No fee unless we recover

We work on a contingency fee, written down before we start. If we do not recover money for you, you owe us no fee.

  • We handle the insurers

Once you hire us, adjusters talk to us, not to you. You focus on getting better. We keep you posted at every step.

  • Straight talk about your case

We tell you what your claim may be worth and where it is weak. Sometimes the honest answer is that there is no case. We say so.

Case results

Example outcomes, good and bad.

We show the cases that went well, the ones that came out modest, and the ones that did not work. You should know all three can happen.

All example outcomes
  • Example outcome Settled before a lawsuit
    Motorcycle accidents

Left turn across a rider's lane

A driver turned left into a gas station across an oncoming rider and said the bike was speeding. The rider broke his wrist and collarbone.

What happened: Video from the gas station showed the rider at a normal speed. The driver's insurer paid its policy limit, and the rider's own underinsured coverage added more.

  • Example outcome Trial, reduced by shared fault
    Pedestrian accidents

Hit while crossing mid-block at night

A man crossed mid-block, away from the corner, and was hit by a driver going over the limit. He broke his leg.

What happened: The case went to trial. The jury found the driver mostly at fault, but held the client 40 percent at fault for crossing where he did. His award was reduced by that share.

  • Example outcome No recovery
    Hit-and-run crashes

Clipped at night by a car that never stopped

A driver was sideswiped on a dark road. No one saw the other car, and no cameras covered that stretch.

What happened: Without a witness or video, the client's policy did not allow the uninsured motorist claim. We explained why, closed the file and charged no fee.

These are invented examples for a sample website. They show the kinds of results a road injury firm might describe. Every case is different, and past results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome in any other case.

After a crash

What to do in the first 48 hours.

  1. Get safe, then call 911 Move out of traffic if you can. Call 911 for anyone hurt, and make sure the police make a report. The report number matters later.
  2. Get medical care the same day Go to the ER or urgent care, even if you feel fine. Adrenaline hides pain. A record from day one also helps your claim.
  3. Photograph everything Vehicles, plates, the road, signs, signals, your injuries, your gear. Take more than you think you need.
  4. Swap details, not opinions Get names, phone numbers, insurance and plate numbers. Do not say sorry or guess about fault at the scene.
