A Plainspoken technician leans in to walk an office manager through a fix on her laptop

Managed IT

One flat monthly rate per user for the whole job: help desk, monitoring, updates, security basics and a plan for what comes next.

How it works

Managed IT means you stop paying by the hour and start paying for an outcome: computers that stay updated, accounts that get set up and shut off on time, and someone who picks up the phone. You pay a set amount per person each month, so a busy month and a quiet month cost the same.

Behind the scenes we run monitoring software on your computers, servers and network gear. It flags full disks, failed updates and dying hardware before they turn into a bad Monday. Most of that work happens after hours, and you see it in a short monthly report.

Four times a year we sit down with you for a planning meeting. It is about your budget, not our sales targets: which laptops are due, which licences you can drop, and what to set aside for next year.

What's included

  • Unlimited help desk by phone, email and client portal during business hours
  • Around-the-clock monitoring of computers, servers and network gear
  • Windows, Mac and app updates every month, tested before they roll out
  • Endpoint protection on every managed computer
  • New staff set up and departing staff shut off the same week
  • Quarterly planning meeting with a 12-month budget
  • Network, account and licence notes that you own

Your first month

  1. Week 1

Walkthrough, account review and a written list of what we found

  2. Week 2

Monitoring installed and backups checked by restoring a real file

  3. Weeks 3 and 4

We fix the urgent items from the list, one at a time, with notice

  4. Day 30

A plain-English report and your first planning meeting

The honest part

New hardware, software licences and big projects such as an office move are not in the monthly rate. We quote them separately, in writing, before any work starts.

Questions

What counts as a user?

A person with their own email account. Their laptop, phone and a desk computer are all covered under that one price. Shared devices like a front-desk PC are priced separately and simply.

Do you replace our current IT person?

Not necessarily. Many clients keep a staff member who knows the business and hand us the technical work. We call that co-managed IT and price it the same way.
