Buying and pricing
How much does Purlin cost?
Crew is $199 a month flat for up to 3 active projects. Builder is $69 per active project a month with a 4-project minimum ($276). Company starts at $1,450 a month on a yearly contract with 20 active projects included, then $59 per extra project. Every plan has unlimited users.
Do subs, owners and architects need to pay?
No. Every plan includes unlimited users. Subs, owners, architects and inspectors get free logins, or they can answer from an email link with no account at all.
Is there a free trial?
Crew and Builder have a 14-day trial with no card. Company starts with a 30-day pilot on one live job, with our onboarding lead on it.
Can we pay monthly?
Yes on Crew and Builder. Company is a yearly contract, which you can pay monthly or up front.
Field and offline
Does the field app work without signal?
Yes for daily logs, photos, punch items, custom forms and any drawings you have opened or downloaded. Work saves to the phone first and syncs when signal returns. Creating a new project, weather fill and reports need a connection.
Which phones and tablets work?
Current iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets, plus the two versions before. The office uses any modern browser.
What about subs who will not install an app?
They do not have to. RFIs, submittals, lookaheads and bid invites all work from an email link in a browser.
How do we get supers to actually use it?
Start with the daily log on one job. Tom's team runs a short field kickoff call with your supers in week one, and checks in after the first week of logs.
Data and security
Who owns our project data?
You do. Export everything as CSV, PDF and the original files whenever you want, on every plan.
How is our data protected?
It is encrypted in transit and at rest, backed up daily to a second region, and locked down by role. Purlin staff only open your projects for a support case you allow, and that access is logged.
Do you have a security report we can review?
We share our security overview and the summary of our yearly outside test during a Company pilot, and we complete your questionnaire before the pilot starts.
What happens if we cancel?
Your account turns read-only for 90 days so you can export everything. After that, the data is deleted and we confirm it in writing.
Switching
How long does switching take?
Most teams run one live job in week one and roll out to new jobs over four to six weeks. Jobs near closeout usually finish in the old system.
Can you import from our current software?
Yes. We import RFI logs, submittal registers, budgets and directories from spreadsheet exports, and drawing sets from PDF. Builder and Company include import done for you.
Does Purlin work with our accounting software?
Cloud small-business accounting connects directly, and desktop or hosted construction accounting suites connect through a small connector app. Bring your setup to the demo and we will be plain about what syncs.

PMCan we keep using our scheduling software?
Yes. Most commercial teams do. Import the file whenever the schedule changes and Purlin updates the dates the field sees.
RFIDo architects and engineers need a Purlin account?
They can answer from an email link with no account at all. If they want a log of everything they owe you, a free collaborator login gives them one.
LOGWhat happens if the phone dies before it syncs?
The log is saved on the phone as you type. When the phone comes back on and finds signal, it syncs. Only a lost or wiped device loses unsynced work, which is why the app shows a clear Saved on phone badge until it is up.

DWGHow big can a drawing set be?
Sets of several thousand sheets work fine. Tablets download sheets as they are opened, or the whole set at once before heading to a site with no signal.
BIDDo subs need a Purlin account to bid?
No. They view the package and submit from an email link. If they bid with you often, a free login keeps all their invitations in one list.
