RFIs and submittals RFIs every plan · Submittals Builder+

RFIs and submittals that show whose court the ball is in.

Every RFI and submittal has a number, a due date and one person responsible right now. Link it to the sheet it changes and the cost it might move, and the whole team sees the same log.

Who does what

Useful on the deck and at the desk.

In the field

  • Start an RFI from the app with a photo and a pin on the sheet
  • See the answer on the drawing the moment it is published
  • Check the status of a submittal before the material shows up

In the office

  • Number, route and track RFIs with a due date on each step
  • Build the submittal register from the spec sections
  • Send reviewers a link. Architects and engineers never need a paid seat

What it does

RFIs and submittals, in detail.

01Ball in court, always visible
The log shows who holds each item and for how many days. Overdue items turn red. Nobody has to send a chase email to find out.
02Linked to the sheet
An answered RFI pins itself to the drawing it changes, so the crew sees the answer where they look, not in an inbox.
03Linked to the money
Mark an RFI as a possible cost or time impact and it opens a change event in job costing. Nothing gets lost between the two logs.
04Submittal workflows
Sub to GC to architect and back, with stamps, revisions and a clear history. Resubmittals keep the same number with a new revision.

Draft the question in the field with a photo. The office sends it.

How it works

Four steps, start to finish.

  1. STEP 1

    Ask

A super or PE drafts the question with photos and sheet pins, from the field or the office.

  2. STEP 2

    Route

Pick the reviewer and a due date. They answer from an email link or their free login.

  3. STEP 3

    Answer

The official answer is published to everyone on the distribution list and pinned to the sheet.

  4. STEP 4

    Follow the cost

If the answer adds scope, the change event is already waiting in job costing.

Limits

What it does not do.

  • Purlin routes and tracks. It does not replace the design team's review or decide who pays for a change.
  • Big model files are stored as attachments. Purlin does not open or edit BIM models.

Questions

Do architects and engineers need a Purlin account?

They can answer from an email link with no account at all. If they want a log of everything they owe you, a free collaborator login gives them one.

Can we import our current RFI log?

Yes. Send us the export as a spreadsheet or CSV and we map numbers, dates and status. On Builder and Company plans we do it for you.

Bring one real job to the demo.

Thirty minutes with a former PM or superintendent. We load one of your RFIs and one of your drawings, and show you what your field crew would see tomorrow morning.
