Purlin

Project management Every plan

One schedule the office plans and the field can read on a phone.

Import your baseline or build it in Purlin. Every sub gets their own three-week lookahead, punch items carry a photo and a pin on the sheet, and meeting minutes turn into tasks with owners and dates.

Who does what

Useful on the deck and at the desk.

In the field

  • See this week and the next two by trade, not a 400-line chart
  • Add a punch item with a photo and a pin on the sheet in under a minute
  • Mark a task done from the deck, even with no signal

In the office

  • Import the baseline from your scheduling file, or build it here
  • Send each sub only their lookahead, by email or in the app
  • Track punch items by trade and location through to closeout

What it does

Project management, in detail.

01Lookaheads by trade
Filter the schedule to one sub and send it. They see their activities, the ones they depend on, and nothing else.
02Punch lists that close
Each item has a location, a trade, a photo and a due date. The sub marks it ready, the super verifies it, and it drops off the list.
03Minutes that become tasks
Type the OAC meeting notes once. Any line can become a task with an owner, so the next agenda starts with what is still open.
04Delays on the record
When a daily log notes a delay, it links to the schedule activity it hit. That record matters when the time extension conversation starts.

How it works

Four steps, start to finish.

  1. STEP 1

    Bring the schedule in

Upload an XER or MPP file, or start from a template for your project type.

  2. STEP 2

    Assign trades

Tag activities to subs from your directory. Subs get a free login or email updates.

  3. STEP 3

    Run the week

Supers update progress from the field app. The PM sees it before the Monday meeting.

  4. STEP 4

    Close it out

Punch list, closeout documents and warranty contacts sit in one place for the owner.

Limits

What it does not do.

  • Purlin is not a full CPM engine. If you level resources or run complex logic, keep your scheduling tool and re-import the file when it changes.
  • Re-importing replaces dates on matched activities. Notes and photos added in Purlin stay.

Questions

Can we keep using our scheduling software?

Yes. Most commercial teams do. Import the file whenever the schedule changes and Purlin updates the dates the field sees.

Do subs need to install anything to see their lookahead?

No. They can get it as an email each week, or open it in a browser from a link. The app is there if they want it.

Bring one real job to the demo.

Thirty minutes with a former PM or superintendent. We load one of your RFIs and one of your drawings, and show you what your field crew would see tomorrow morning.
