About
Family-owned Houston dealer since 1987
Sam Bridges founded Atlantic in 1987 with one Honda showroom. 39 years later, his family still runs the place — now Honda + Toyota + Mazda. The Bridges family is in the showroom most days. We don’t do dealer games.

Our story
From one showroom to three brands
1987 — Sam Bridges opens Atlantic Honda
Sam Bridges, formerly a Houston Toyota service manager, opens a single Honda showroom on Katy Freeway. 12 employees, 35 vehicles in stock. Houston was a different city.
1995 — Adds Toyota franchise
Toyota franchise becomes available in northwest Houston. Sam takes the opportunity. Atlantic Motors becomes a 2-brand dealer. 25 employees, 80 vehicles in stock.
2008 — Survives the 2008 recession
Auto industry collapses; many Houston dealers close. Atlantic survives by cutting margins, keeping team intact, and focusing on customer relationships. Many customers from 2008 still shop with us.
2014 — Maria + Janelle Bridges join
Sam’s daughters Maria (finance) + Janelle (operations) join the business. Second generation begins. Sam still in the showroom every day.
2019 — Adds Mazda franchise
Mazda franchise opportunity in northwest Houston. Atlantic adds Mazda as third brand. Showroom expands to 32,000 sq ft. 60+ employees.
Today — 82 employees, 39 years strong
82 team members across sales, service, parts, finance, body shop. 27 service bays. Honda, Toyota, Mazda authorized. Family-owned, family-run, no plans to sell to a chain.
Leadership
The Bridges family
Sam Bridges — Founder + CEO
Founded Atlantic in 1987. 39+ years in auto industry. Former Toyota service manager. Sam is in the showroom most days; ask any salesperson. He still personally signs every birthday card to long-time customers.
Maria Bridges — VP, Finance
Sam’s eldest daughter. Joined 2014 after 8 years at Texas Capital Bank. MBA from UT Austin. Runs all financing, leasing, and lender relationships. Probably the person who’ll sit with you at the F&I desk.
Janelle Bridges — VP, Operations
Sam’s younger daughter. Joined 2014 after 6 years at Toyota corporate. Runs day-to-day operations: sales, service, parts, customer experience. Probably the person you’ll see walking the lot Saturday mornings.
Carlos Ramirez — Sales Manager
12 years at Atlantic. Former Honda factory rep. Manages our 22-person sales team. Personally trains every new salesperson on transparent-pricing approach. The reason we don’t do haggle theater.
David Chen — Service Manager
8 years at Atlantic. Former Toyota factory service trainer. Manages our 18 ASE-certified techs + 27 service bays. Has personally serviced 3 of Sam Bridges’ personal vehicles.
Lin Park — Parts Manager
5 years at Atlantic. Manages parts department, online parts ordering, wholesale account program. Runs the only Honda+Toyota+Mazda parts catalog in northwest Houston.
What we believe
The Atlantic difference
Real prices, online, every vehicle
Our website shows the actual price you pay — no ‘Click for price’ games. The price you see is the price you sign (plus state TT&L). Industry-leading transparency.
$0 doc fee, always
Most Houston dealers charge $150-$500 in documentation fees. We charge $0. The savings is yours. We make money by selling more cars + earning lifetime customer loyalty, not by squeezing each transaction.
Service department equal to sales
27 service bays + 18 ASE-certified techs aren’t a profit center — they’re the reason customers come back for vehicle #2 and #3 and #4. Service is what builds 39-year customer relationships.
We won't sell you the wrong vehicle
If you’re looking at a vehicle that doesn’t fit your needs (cargo capacity, towing, safety features, fuel economy), we’ll tell you. Better to lose a sale than have an unhappy customer who tells everyone we let them buy the wrong car.
Trade-in transparency
We show our math. KBB Trade-In + condition adjustments + auction comparison. We’ll buy your vehicle even if you’re not buying from us. ~30% of trades go to other dealers + private buyers.
We hire for honesty
No commissioned salespeople (everyone is salaried + bonus on customer satisfaction, not gross margin). No sales pressure. Walk in, walk out, no follow-up calls if you don’t want them.
Community
Houston roots
Houston Food Bank — major donor since 1995
Atlantic Motors has been a Houston Food Bank major donor for 30 years. $50,000+ annual contribution + employee-matched giving. Sam serves on Food Bank advisory board.
Houston ISD partnership
Atlantic supports HISD automotive vocational programs. Equipment donations, internship hosting, scholarship for HISD grads pursuing automotive careers ($5k/year × 4 students).
Hurricane Harvey response (2017)
Atlantic provided 80+ loaner vehicles to flooded customers + first responders. Donated $200k to local recovery. Maria + Janelle helped organize the dealership network response.
Local sports + community sponsorships
We sponsor local Little League + soccer + Houston Cougars athletics + Greater Houston Partnership. Most sponsorships continued from year to year — we’re part of the community fabric.
Cars 4 Kids — annual program
Atlantic + employees donate 4-5 vehicles per year to families in need (single moms working multiple jobs, students going to college, recently-housed families). Started 2010. 60+ vehicles donated total.
Veteran-friendly business
12% of Atlantic team is veterans (vs. ~6% in general Houston workforce). Sam’s grandfather served in WWII; family takes it seriously. Veteran-specific hiring outreach + community support.
