Crossmile Diesel & Fleet

About

A crossroads shop since 2009

Independent, owner-run and open late, because trucks through Effingham don't keep office hours.

Our story

Tom Weidner spent twelve years in fleet shops along I-70 before he opened Crossmile in 2009 with two bays, one service truck and a rule written on the office wall: post the rates, write the estimate, call before you go over it.

The interchange did the rest. Thousands of trucks pass through Effingham every day, and the ones that break down need a shop that answers the phone, tells the truth about time and money, and doesn't treat a driver from out of state like a wallet.

Today it is nine bays, two service trucks and a roadside line answered around the clock. The rule is still on the wall.

What we stand for

How we train

We don't hang badges on the wall or claim dealer status. Here is what we actually do, and you are welcome to ask any tech about their background.

The people who answer the phone

Come see the shop

2150 Freightway Drive, Effingham. A mile off the interchange, with room to turn a 53-foot trailer. Or send the details and we will call you.
