1987 Ferrari 328 GTS

The 328 is widely considered the most usable classic Ferrari — the last of the carburettor-era silhouette with the reliability of the later cars, and galvanised from new. This GTS is a preserved original: first paint apart from one documented blend, original tan interior, and 21,462 miles supported by its service book.

The 3.2-litre quattrovalvole V8 delivers its 270 bhp through the open gate that defines the experience. Cam belts and tensioners were done in our workshop this year; it needs nothing but a driver.

Restoration & condition

• Original books, leather wallet, tool roll and jack all present
• Targa roof seals renewed; air conditioning converted and blowing cold
• One documented blend to the front bumper following a stone chip repair, 2009

Graded Grade IV — Preserved original under the Ferrobello grading standard. Substantially as it left the factory. Original paint or a single documented repaint, original interior, unrestored driveline. Cars in this grade are conserved, never restored.
