About this course

Most members don't own a kiln, and you don't need to. This course covers community studios and firing services, packing pots so they survive the trip, cones in plain words, and, if you do buy a kiln one day, the venting, power and safety questions to ask first.

You'll make

  • A short list of places near you that fire members' work
  • A firing log you'll actually keep
  • Fewer cracked pots on the way to the kiln

What you need

  • Some bone-dry pots and a box to carry them in
  • A phone to call a local studio (we include a script)
