0:00Okay. One pound of clay, already wedged, slapped down in the middle of the wheel head. Don't worry about perfect. Get it roughly central and press it down so it sticks.

0:24Wheel at about three-quarters speed. Wet your hands, wet the clay. Not a flood, just enough that your hands slide. If it feels sticky, add water. If you see a puddle, sponge it out.

0:51Now we cone up. Both hands around the base, squeeze in, and let the clay rise. Your elbows are on your knees or braced on your hips. That's the whole secret: your arms don't move, the wheel does the work.

1:30Then down. Left hand on the side, right palm on top, push the cone back into a mound. Up, down, up, down. Three times. If it wobbles at the top, that's fine. We'll fix it in the next lesson.
