A pottery membership with Nico Ferrante
Six courses in the right order, four live sessions a week and a kind crit on Saturdays. Taught by one potter from his garage studio in Burlington, Vermont.
“I post free videos because everyone should get to touch clay. The membership is where I can actually teach you: in order, live, and with feedback on the pots you made.”

Every lesson is filmed right here.
Nico's garage studio in Burlington, the same secondhand wheel since 2016. A new lesson goes up every Tuesday and a short fix every Friday.
You don't need a wheel, a kiln or any experience. Pick the line that sounds like you and we'll point you at the first lesson that fits.

How it works
Free videos teach one trick at a time. Here every lesson builds on the last one, and when you get stuck there's a live session this week and a community that has been stuck in the same place.
A typical path
This is roughly how members who practise two or three short sessions a week move through the first courses. It's a typical path, not a promise: some people take longer, some go faster, and both are normal.
Six courses, 67 lessons, every live session as a replay, and a short fix every Friday. Captions and written transcripts on everything.
Four sessions a week for Studio members: a throw-along, a glaze clinic, Saturday crit and a quiet Sunday open studio. Cameras are always optional.

Eight spaces, hosted by Marisol and two volunteer members. Critique only when you ask for it, no selling, and every safety question gets a pinned answer.

“I took two community-studio classes and still couldn't center. The centering unit broke it into steps I could practise at home, and by about week five I stopped dreading it.”

“Glaze clinic has saved me a lot of ruined pots. Nico explains why a glaze crawled instead of telling you to buy a different one.”

“The monthly call is twenty minutes and it's the most useful twenty minutes of my month. He looks at the pot I actually made, not a perfect one.”

Mudroom is three people and a kiln. Your membership pays for Nico's teaching time, Marisol's hosting, Hattie's support inbox, captions and the clay. It lives on our own site, so a social app changing its rules can't take your lessons away.
No. Kitchen-Table Handbuilding needs no wheel at all, and plenty of members never buy one. If you want to throw, a community studio membership works just as well as a wheel at home.
No. Most members don't own one. Firing Without a Kiln shows you how to find community studios and firing services, pack your pots, and talk to whoever fires them.
Yes. Account, then Membership, then Cancel. Two clicks, no call, no exit survey. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
Monthly plans: your first payment is fully refundable for 14 days. Yearly plans: full refund for 30 days, then a refund of the whole months you haven't used, if you ask.
We don't promise that, and we'd be wary of anyone who does. Mudroom teaches you to make good pots. Some members sell at markets; most make pots for themselves and their friends. Both are the point.
Start with the free sampler, no card needed. Join when you're ready, cancel in two clicks, and get your first payment back within 14 days if it isn't for you.
