Foundations pathway, dancers' cross-training, breath mechanics
“You don't need a dancer's body. You need ten honest minutes of footwork.”
Priya danced professionally for six years before a hip injury introduced her to the reformer the hard way — as rehab. What kept her on the machine after discharge was the same thing that keeps her teaching now: the moment a student stops performing an exercise and starts listening to it.
She owns the Foundations pathway at Quiet Form, and most members who started here can trace their first spring change to her Monday 7 a.m. class. Expect the clearest cueing in the building and zero tolerance for students apologising to her for being new.
Off the mat: Teaches a free Saturday movement class at her old dance school twice a season.
