Reformer Flow

After about 10 Foundations classes, or with prior reformer experience.

Flow assumes the vocabulary and works on the sentences. Transitions tighten, sequences run longer, and the spring changes come quicker, but the intent never shifts from precision to exhaustion. This is the class most members live in: enough work that you'll feel it the next day, calm enough that you leave unhurried.

Inside the class

How the 50 minutes go

  1. Minutes 0 to 8

    Warm-up on the carriage

Footwork and breath to settle in, with fewer pauses than Foundations.

  2. Minutes 8 to 40

    Linked sequences

Lying, kneeling, and seated work joined into longer runs, with spring changes called briefly.

  3. Minutes 40 to 48

    Standing and side-lying work

The last strength block, then a long stretch.

  4. Final 2 minutes

    Stillness

Lying on the carriage with nothing to do. Tomas guards these two minutes like a personal possession.

What to expect

The work, plainly

  • Continuous 50-minute sequences with minimal reset time
  • Full-body classical order with contemporary variations
  • Options offered in both directions: scaled down and scaled up
  • A finishing two minutes of stillness. Non-negotiable, much loved

Good for

  • Graduates of Foundations
  • Experienced reformer students new to us
  • Anyone building a two or three times a week practice

Before your first one

  • Flow assumes you know the springs and straps. If you don't yet, start with Foundations.
  • Take the smaller version of any exercise, any time. Nobody will comment.
  • Evening Flow fills first. Book a few days ahead if you can.

Pregnant, recently postpartum, or working around an injury or surgery? Please check with your doctor, midwife, or physiotherapist before you book, and tell your teacher before class. We teach movement; we don't diagnose or treat.

Asked about Flow

Is Flow harder than Foundations?

It's more continuous rather than heavier. The springs are similar; the difference is fewer stops and longer sequences.

Can I use the intro offer for Flow?

Yes. The intro offer covers Foundations or Flow. If you're new to the reformer, make your first class Foundations and try Flow for class two or three.
