Private Sessions

All levels. The fastest way to learn, and the gentlest.

Privates are how many members begin, especially anyone working around an injury, a pregnancy, or a decade at a desk. If that's you, check with your doctor, midwife, or physiotherapist first and bring their guidance. Your teacher builds each session around you and keeps written notes between visits, so every session picks up where the last one ended. Privates are also how our strongest students get unstuck: an hour of undivided attention finds what a group class never will.

How a private works

Before, during, and after

  1. Before your first session

    A conversation first

Fifteen minutes about your movement history, what you want from the work, and anything your doctor or physio has advised.

  2. The 55 minutes

    Built around you

Reformer, tower, or chair, chosen for what you need that day rather than a set sequence.

  3. Afterwards

    Written notes

Your teacher keeps notes that carry into your next private and into any group class you join.

What to expect

The work, plainly

  • A 15-minute movement history conversation before your first session
  • A written plan that carries between sessions and into group classes
  • Tower, chair, and small props alongside the reformer
  • Scheduling around you, including hours the group timetable doesn't cover

Good for

  • Returning after injury, with your doctor's or physio's OK
  • Pregnancy and postpartum, once your doctor or midwife says yes
  • True beginners who want a runway before group classes
  • Regulars who feel stuck

Before your first private

  • Bring any notes or guidance from your doctor, physiotherapist, or midwife.
  • Privates need 24 hours' notice to move or cancel.
  • You can book a teacher by name. Sofie leads pregnancy and postpartum work; Jonah takes most returns from physio.

Pregnant, recently postpartum, or working around an injury or surgery? Please check with your doctor, midwife, or physiotherapist before you book, and tell your teacher before class. We teach movement; we don't diagnose or treat.

Asked about privates

Do I need a doctor's note for a private?

Not for a regular private. If you're pregnant, recently postpartum, or recovering from injury or surgery, please get the go-ahead from your doctor, midwife, or physio first. We teach movement; we don't diagnose or treat.

How many privates before group classes?

Many people take two or three, then move into Foundations. Your teacher will suggest a plan, and there's no package you have to buy.
